Label owner Robert Hyman (Mr Russia, Melter & UsherHouse) began conceiving of the label way back in the early 90's but did not officially put Lens Records on the books until 1999 - thereby solidifying his commitment to releasing the finest music he can find. Combining a love of darker music & a fascination with the endless possibilities of experimental music - Lens Records seeks to establish itself as an open-minded outlet for artists who may not have an opportunity to release their music on any other label. We seek artists who have a passion for creating music they love and the determination to endure and overcome the obstacles they face in presenting that music to the world.

We have established a strong roster of artists helping to establish the identity of Lens Records including Ahab Rex, Avagami, Beehatch, Emulsion, Melter, Nookleptia, Press, Reptilica, Robert Scott Thompson, Skarekraü Radio & UsherHouse. Musical styles represented include dark ambient, experimental, ambient, electronic, lo-fi & rock. We are always looking to expand our roster of artists.
